Two Tribal women murdered in Thane district (India)

Two tribal women were found brutally murdered in separate incidents in Thane district, police said today. In the first incident, the body of a 27-year-old woman was found in the hill at Koila in Thakarpada village of Talasari taluka yesterday. The local police were informed about the body by a villager Rajesh Kharpade after which the police rushed there and took charge of the body.

The lady was done to death with the help of a stone and the police found that her face, mouth and other parts of the body were badly smashed by the killers.

A 50-year-old tribal woman Gulab Bhoye of Mangrul village was on her way taking food for her husband. who was working in thevillage. The victim had to pass through the bushes and during her journey some unknown persons waylaid and killed her last evening, police said.

Police said her body had marks on her neck, indicating that she might have been strangulated to death. Her body was found dumped in a nullah in the jungle, police said adding that the body had been sent for post-mortem. Her relatives, who realized that she had not not returned home till late evening, went in search of her and found her body lying abandoned in the nullah of the jungle. PI S N Dhumal of the Wada police station is carrying out the investigations. Police have registered offences under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC in connection with both the killings and a manhunt has been launched to track down the culprits.
